Marla

Terms of Service

Version 2026-10-21-draft

Draft for legal review. This text hasn't been approved by a lawyer yet and will change before Marla is used with real patients. Items in [brackets] are still to be filled in.

The service

Marla is an AI receptionist that answers a dental practice's calls when the practice can't, records what each caller needs, and passes the call to the practice's dashboard. These terms are between [legal entity name], ABN [ABN] ("we") and the practice that creates the account ("you").

Pilot

During the pilot Marla is provided free of charge, by invitation code, and may change or be withdrawn. [Pilot length, and what happens at the end of it.]

Marla is not a clinician or an emergency service

  • Marla doesn't diagnose, give clinical advice, or book, cancel or change appointments.
  • For a possible life-threatening emergency, Marla tells the caller to hang up and call 000.
  • Marla's urgency rating is a guide. Your team decides how and when to respond to every call.

Your responsibilities

  • Keep Marla Configuration accurate, including at least one urgent alert contact, and check your dashboard and alerts.
  • Call patients back, especially those flagged urgent. An alert can be delayed or fail, so don't rely on it alone.
  • Tell your patients that calls may be answered by an AI receptionist, and meet your own privacy obligations for patient records.
  • Keep logins private, and only give access to people at your practice.

Availability

We work to keep Marla running but don't guarantee it will be available or error-free, especially during the pilot. If Marla can't be reached, calls may not be answered or recorded. [Describe the fallback, e.g. calls going to the practice's voicemail.]

Data

Call information belongs to you. We handle it as described in our Privacy Policy and only to provide the service. [Data processing terms, and how you can export or delete your data.]

Ending the service

Either of us can end your use of Marla with [notice period] notice. [What happens to call data afterwards.]

Liability

[Limitation of liability and indemnities, consistent with the Australian Consumer Law. To be written by a lawyer.]

General

These terms are governed by the laws of [State], Australia. We'll tell you before we make material changes.
